Introduction
Steps
Cook the pasta in a pot of salted water according to instructions on packet. They should be al dente. ( dont overcook will be mushy) Drain, reserving 1 cup of the cooking pasta liquid.
In a frying pan heat the olive oil and cook the onions until soft, add garlic and cook for another minute.
Transfer the peas ( thawed) into the pan, set aside some for serving on top. Add in the basil and pasta water. Bring the sauce to a simmer for approx 10 minutes.
Add all the ingredients to food processor or blender and blend until smooth.
Mix the pea sauce and the paste together and add in Olive oil and salt to taste.
Toppings:
Can grate cheese on top
Use pitted black olives for the hair
Cucumber for the eyes and cocktail stills for bolts
How to make
Ingredients
2 tablespoons of Olive or coconut Oil ( frying onions and garlic)
1 small onion chopped
3 garlic cloves
1 cup of frozen peas
1/2 cup fresh basil
1 1/4 cup multigrain gluten free pasta- penne or fuseli works best
1/2 tsp of salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
Toppings optional
Pine nuts
Grated manchego ( sheep cheese or dairy free alternatives)
Decorations
Black olives
Cucumber
